Next commission by Annika Eriksson – ‘Adventure Ahead’

Adventure Ahead is new project by Annika Eriksson for Gymnasium Projects to take place in October 2015. The new work is derived from footage from the Media Archive of Central England in Lincoln which holds a huge array of film footage from amateur and broadcast sources. The work takes footage from a number of sources, including Children Rule 2080 – a science-fiction featuring children in a future world. Creating a timewarp of propositional projection from and reflection on this key era in social history, the project will include a film, illuminated signs and an event in a building in Lincoln which has functioned as a nightclub for 30 years.

Annika Eriksson is a Swedish artist living in Berlin. Over the years, Eriksson has produced a large number of works in which the perception of time, structures of power, and once acclaimed social visions are called into question. Recent commissions include: Something is here nothing is here (horror), Site Residency Novosibirsk 2015; Now you see us now you don’t, Krome Gallery, Berlin 2014; I am the dog that was always here (loop), Istanbul Biennale 2013.
